The real question is how long do they look good for?
It is really hard to give a rough estimate if I haven't done your hair before as everyone's hair is different. Other things that will effect how long your braids will last is, how you sleep, your day-to-day activity, whether you maintain them and really when you consider them to be messy. For example kids braids don't usually last as long as they are so active and don't tend to look after them.
Please message or email me with a photo of your desired style so I can give you a rough time frame.
* Aftercare care can be found under "How do I look after my braids?"
I do say that your hair should be shoulder length to be braided however there are styles that work better on shorter hair so please send me a photo of your current length via my Facebook page or email and if long enough I can give you some style recommendations.
Thick hair:
Braids can of course be done on thick hair but please keep in mind that extensions are harder to blend in thick hair and is more prone to those sticky out bits (same goes if you have a blunt cut).
Thin hair:
Aka the perfect braiding hair!
Braids can be done in thin hair as well and if wanting extensions, they are a lot easier to blend in.
Sure can! I recommend 1 - 3 top braids as the extensions will be hidden. 2x braids straight back can also be achieved if you have a weave or beads. i can usually hide the beads pretty well however if you do have a weave you will see it where the parting is.
No, unfortunately.
UPDATE: With Covid-19 and restrictions I do ask that no extras are bought to the salon only client and parent/guardian.
Yes! However please keep in mind I do work alongside a nail tech and beautician so there are breakables and chemicals within reach.
if you follow the beforecare, this will help your braids last better. Beforecare can be found under "How should I have my hair when I come to my appointment?"
* Purchase a satin sleeping cap
Why satin?
- Satin helps smooth frizzy hair
- Minimises static
- Eliminates friction when your hair rubs against a harsher fabric
* Avoid getting braids wet, this will cause fly-aways and product may run.
* Hairspray as needed
Braids: Please come to your appointment with 2 -3 days old hair, natural oil helps the braids go in better and last better. Hair must also be dry.
Braided ponytails with extensions: Please do the above and also have your hair straightened prior to your appointment, this will help your natural hair blend with the extensions. Straightening is offered at an additional cost.
Formal styles: Please come to your appointment with 1 - 2 days old hair. Hair must also be dry.
